The Pope John Paul II Award, established in 1996,
recognizes the stewardship exhibited by a Catholic
layperson(s) of high moral character and exemplary
values, who has rendered unselfish volunteer service
to the institutions and programs of the Archdiocese
of New Orleans. The presentation is made in the fall
of each year at the Catholic Foundation's Annual Dinner.
The Pope John Paul II Award is given to a deserving
person or couple who has significant volunteer service
to Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese of New
Orleans and has high moral character. The recipient
must also have exemplary values and have not only
volunteer board service but hands on ministry.
